Pharmalink goes live with SAP S/4HANA at the start of 2023
Abu Dhabi, Jan 2023: This new year brought in a new era of digitalization for Pharmalink. As a leading distributor of pharma products and owner of a prominent pharmaceutical chain in the UAE, Exalogic Consulting in partnership with SAP Mena helped Pharmalink realize the importance of moving strategically toward reorganizing their critical business functions and mapping them digitally. With the intent of giving up their legacy enterprise management system in favour of SAP S/4HANA (Rise Bundle) Private Cloud Edition, Pharmalink started on an organization-wide digital transformation journey in partnership with Exalogic Consulting, last year. The digital transformation implementation succinctly branded as Project Everest was officially kicked off in the month of May 2022 and in a short span of seven months, Exalogic Consulting enabled Pharmalink with a successful summit, marking a major milestone in their growth path.
Some of the reasons behind moving away from their legacy ERP, Epicor and upgrade to SAP was the lack of necessary financial and operational transparency and visibility into their supply chain management. A standardization was necessary to bring in efficiency and integrate end-to-end business processes based on SAP best practices. SAP S/4HANA cloud services offered Pharmalink the advantage of flexibility, scalability and agility that were missing earlier, resulting in resilience and paving the way for growth.
The implementation based on SAP’s Activate Methodology began with discovery workshops with Pharmalink’s key business stakeholders and followed up with blueprinting every business process. Owing to how a pharma business operates in the UAE, and especially to meet Pharmalink’s current business requirements, Exalogic Consulting’s expert SAP functional consultants led by delivery head Amol Rugge also designed custom solutions over and above the standard, best practices offering of SAP S/4HANA suite of functions.
SAP S/4HANA enablement has successfully led to seamless operations, eliminated data silos, increased cross-functional collaboration and productivity at Pharmalink. The intensive training sessions organized and driven by Exalogic Consulting team helped Pharmalink business users to adopt SAP fairly easily and quickly. The knowledge transfer along with enabling and expert hand-holding of Fiori suite of applications especially transformed them into SAP expert users.
